Installation and User Instructions

The Dovre Rock 350 wood burning stove is an elegant indoor heater that produces a powerful 7 kW heat output to efficiently heat a large room with only a small amount of wood.

Advanced combustion technology ensures that the Dovre Rock 350 meets even the most stringent emission regulations if the correct wood is used. Known as Cleanburn, an advanced secondary combustion system introduces hot air into the firebox just above the fire, allowing any unburned particles left in the smoke to reignite, thereby burning away harmful emissions and simultaneously raising the temperature inside the firebox with no extra fuel. To fuel the fire with oxygen, advanced air-wash technology, employs a specially designed slot and aeration system that sweeps preheated air between the glass door and the fire. This has the added advantage of keeping the glass clean by preventing a build-up of soot and creosote, and enhancing the aesthetics of the stove with a great view of the flames. The firebox is lined with highly renowned Chamotte refractory firebricks. Together with an innovative flue system, the Dovre Rock 350 burns wood with remarkable efficiency, retaining 80% of the heat, compared to less than 10% in an open fireplace.

The graceful curves of the top-grade solid cast-iron stove, fitted on a tablet base, complements any tasteful décor, with other base options available to suit any taste. To make it easy to install the Dovre Rock 350 into a room of any size or shape, it is available with either rear-or top flue exit options and for rooms with poor ventilation, there is a specially designed external air connection that draws air from outside the house which does not deplete oxygen levels and safely emits all smoke. The matt-black exterior is accented by a polished stainless steel pebble door handle, which can be detached to keep it cool. The large door gives easy access to the firebox, which can accept logs of up to 350 mm in length. The slam-lock mechanism allows the door to close effortlessly and the door-lever automatically drops into the locked position. The ashtray can easily be removed for effortless cleaning and thanks to its single air slider, the Dovre Rock 350 is simple to operate and gives you maximum relaxation in front of the fire at a controlled temperature.

Cleaning your Dovre Rock 350 wood burning stove

After each use, the ashtray is easily removed and emptied. Discard the ash and clear the grid openings for good air circulation. Sit back and enjoy your next fire.

It is advisable to strip and clean a wood-burning stove thoroughly once a year to keep it functioning at optimum efficiency and to keep it looking new for decades. Clean the inside of the firebox by removing all ash and vacuuming out finer particles from all the crevices and combustion chambers. Thoroughly clean the flue system, or get a specialist cleaner to do this for you.

Use the right wood fuel

Hardwood, such as oak, beech, birch or fruit trees is the ideal fuel for the Dovre Rock 350 woodburning stove. If seasoned properly and thanks to the state-of-the-art technology of the Rock 350, hardwood burns slowly and efficiently, without harmful emissions.

Do not use softwoods or wet wood. They contain more moisture and resins, giving off smoke, unburnt particles and sparks and leaving soot and creosote deposits. Not only do they not meet the Government’s Clean Air Regulations, they will clog up your stove and flue system.

Properly seasoned wood contains a maximum of 20% moisture. Commercially available wood fuel is dried in a kiln, but if you want to season your own wood, split the wood to dry better, stack in such a way that there is sufficient airflow, keep dry from rain or other moisture and protect from harsh sunlight and season for at least two years.

If you buy your Dovre Rock 350 from Firehouse now, we will give you a free Morsø Jiko, an African inspired small, wood-fired stove for outdoor cooking, which you can also use as a fire pit, but also excellent for cooking in the open. Firehouse will also add a Kindwood bundle of kiln-dried logs.
